Weyrich

Publishing house Weyrich chooses MultiPress for book production

Publishing house Weyrich has been around since 1999 and to this day this print business is known as one of the most important publishing houses in Belgium. In 2023, Weyrich faced a new challenge: they wanted to produce small-batch editions themselves with digital printing and print-on-demand. The acquisition of the offset printing company, Schmitz & Gofflot, was an important step toward realizing this ambition. But with that acquisition, the team encountered a series of new challenges.... That is why they chose MultiPress to support them on a daily basis!

Belgian publishing house of books, mooks and magazines

Weyrich was founded in 1999 as a communications company specialized in publishing regional information. Since 2012, they have been focusing on publishing their own books, mooks and magazines in small-batch and large-batch editions. This still makes them one of the leading publishers in Belgium today. Since 2023, Weyrich developed the ambition and vision to take control of the production of its publications. And so they made the important choice to acquire Schmitz & Gofflot, a traditional offset printing company.

This acquisition meant not only the preservation of this print business, but also Weyrich's entry into the world of printing. Publishing house Weyrich moved into the print business building in order to make the best use of the machinery there. In addition, they gave production a serious boost and invested in two digital presses and associated finishing processes. Thanks to this investment, they can now handle both small and medium editions.

MultiPress stimulates efficient administration and production

Weyrich took big steps to cope with this new way of working, because calculating cost prices manually caused an absolute overload of administrative work. That's why they not only invested in advanced digital presses and finishing technology, but also chose MultiPress. This choice was crucial to be able to quickly and accurately calculate and monitor even small-batch editions.

Price calculations at Weyrich are now much faster, but also accurate with an eye on every aspect of production: printing, finishing and packaging. And the optimization doesn't stop there: MultiPress also provides detailed insight into business results. This is essential for streamlining administrative processes and achieving cost-effective production. MultiPress connects different departments and processes within Weyrich, allowing the company to better respond to the dynamic demands within their print business and publishing house.

Thanks to MultiPress, Weyrich made a smooth transition to producing small editions in-house. The software not only provides transparency in scheduling and production flow, but also significantly reduces lead times. This gives Weyrich the flexibility to make last-minute changes, which is invaluable in their market.
