Bredewold
How Bredewold print company connects studio and production with MultiPress
Since 1978, Bredewold Communicatievormgevers has grown from a traditional printing company into a full-service communication agency. With a team of thirty professionals, they deliver webshops, marketing strategies and high-quality print. To maintain control over increasing project complexity, the agency switched to MultiPress, resulting in more control, fewer errors and significant time savings.
Creative thinking and in-house production
Bredewold Communicatievormgevers is a family business with deep roots in the graphic sector. From its location in Wezep, the company has grown since 1978 from a traditional craft printing house into a versatile communication agency with its own production facilities. Today, Bredewold has a team of 25 to 28 professionals, active in creative work, web and print.
What characterises Bredewold is the combination of strategic and creative thinking with in-house production. In the print shop, offset and digital technologies operate side by side. The machine park includes several offset presses and a strong digital department with four HP Indigo presses, the 7500, 7900 and the recently installed 7K. This enables Bredewold to produce both classic print and high-quality, personalised and special-effect print, from small runs to complex productions.
As a hybrid communication agency, Bredewold supports clients in education, healthcare and government with creative concepts, brand portals, warehousing and reliable print production, all under one roof.
The need for a modern MIS/ERP system
After 35 years of working with the same software system, Bredewold noticed that it no longer scaled with the company’s growth. Projects became more creative and complex, with multiple machines and departments often working on the same assignment simultaneously , a situation that required a robust MIS solution with integrated workflow control. "We were looking for a system that better matched our current needs and the growth we are experiencing," says Bredewold. The acquisition of a printing company already working with MultiPress ultimately made the decision easier.
One of the greatest advantages for the studio is the central safeguarding of time registration and project information. This not only improves efficiency but also allows hours to be billed to clients more accurately.
The digital “job bag” plays a key role in this. All relevant information, from files and client agreements to the current order status, is accessible to everyone, including preflight results and production notes. This creates calm on the work floor: "There are few questions from the print shop and we really see fewer errors."
More output with fewer staff
The automation in MultiPress clearly delivers results. Planning for both production and studio preparation has become more dynamic and transparent, and Bredewold now has real-time insight into client stock through automated call-off orders, which makes a significant difference especially for contract clients in education and healthcare.
The result can be summarised clearly: "We can now process more orders and quotations more easily with fewer staff. That is pure time savings."
A smooth transition and a view to the future
Although a system change after 35 years is a major step, the implementation of MultiPress went remarkably smoothly. Targeted training days ensured that the entire team quickly became familiar with the new working environment. For Bredewold, the collaboration with Dataline is also an investment in the future. "It is reassuring that MultiPress closely follows developments in the graphic sector. This allows us to move forward together and benefit from the latest knowledge and software updates."
