Gráficas Muriel: a step forward thanks to automated production process

Gráficas Muriel, based in Getafe, Madrid, was founded in the mid-1980s. With cutting-edge technology, a team of 57 professionals and an annual turnover of over €7 million, the company is known for its commitment to quality and sustainability. After years of managing their business processes with Palmart, they recently chose MultiPress to further improve and automate their production processes, keeping them ahead of the competition.

Gráficas Muriel, specialising in editorial production

Based in the south of Madrid, Gráficas Muriel provides high-quality graphic services and production to major publishing houses, private companies and leading designers. With a team of 57 professionals and state-of-the-art facilities of 1,450 m2 in Getafe, they strive for sustainability. More concretely, they contribute to the fight against climate change by opting for industrial self-consumption through a large photovoltaic installation.

The high degree of qualification of their team full of professionals, allows them to work with the leading designers and advertising agencies in the Spanish market. Their main activity is editorial production and this includes the whole process line, from prepress to large-format offset printing with advanced technologies from KBA, Roland, Heidelberg and Canon. With paperback, milling and wire-binding, they offer a complete service supported by the latest technologies.

They also participate as the associate company of DIMAD-Association of Designers of Madrid and the Madrid Design Foundation. Already since 2013, they participate in the edition of the prestigious Experimenta magazine, where they reinforce the value of paper as a communication tool in the digital age.

Moving from Palmart to MultiPress

For the past eight years, Gráficas Muriel managed their business processes with Palmart, the leading management system on the Spanish software market within the printing industry. Their automation needs were growing day by day, due to constant demands from their customers and the evolution of the graphics sector. The industry was moving more and more towards integration and automation of processes. This was to optimise production and increase profits, which was happening in an increasingly demanding, competitive and concentrated market.

For some time, Gráficas Muriel wanted to go a step further in terms of automation of their production and technological evolution. In the search for new solutions on the Spanish market of ERP/MIS suppliers, they found MultiPress. It proved to be the right tool for them to take that important and necessary step. It allowed Gráficas Muriel to better manage their planning and integrated workflow.

Meanwhile, Palmart, their ERP supplier at the time, was acquired by Dataline. As a result, switching to MultiPress turned out to be good news, as it highlights two essential conditions that such an important decision must have: the best business software for the printing industry and the trust and guarantee of a professional team.
