Dataline unveils MultiPress 6.0 Sirius at FESPA 2024

4 March 2024

MultiPress 6.0 Sirius

Dataline Solutions, the leading software developer in the print and sign industry, will introduce the latest version of its acclaimed MultiPress software at FESPA 2024 in Amsterdam: MultiPress 6.0 Sirius. The new capabilities in the MultiPress software offer business leaders in the sign and wide-format sector innovative solutions and effective answers to business issues such as ever-increasing competition, price pressure, and shortage of skilled staff.

High need for efficiency improvements and healthy margins

At a time when the administrative costs of most print and sign orders in Europe are still around 40% of the total cost, MultiPress 6.0 Sirius offers an effective solution. This software developed especially for the printing industry automates and optimises all business processes.

By streamlining administrative processes and workflow, sign and print businesses can realise significant improvements in their margins, up to +50%. With MultiPress, they improve their time-to-market, avoid errors and lighten the overall cost structure, enabling them to achieve higher business with fewer skilled staff. Dataline's approach here is unique: the analysis based on concrete figures that precedes the software implementation proves time and again to be the only right method to modernise print businesses with digitisation and automation.

MultiPress 6.0 Sirius: new features for sign and large-format companies

MultiPress has long been known as the all-encompassing, modular software that integrates all business processes of every print and sign company in one database. Standard functionalities such as CRM, e-business, calculation, communication, order follow-up, planning and production, purchasing, logistics (expedition, delivery and installation), invoicing and reporting are all possible.

With MultiPress 6.0 Sirius, Dataline introduces at FESPA 2024 some ground-breaking extensions to this well-known package, specifically aimed at sign and large-format companies.

MultiPress 6.0 Sirius follows the successful previous version, MultiPress 5.4 Polaris. Throughout the year, they realise several important new features and improvements in this new version. You can discover MultiPress Sirius 6.0 already now at FESPA 2024 and the software will be made available to customers from Q3 2024.

Order manager 2.0 drives the entire sign and print business

Sign and large-format companies work with small teams and often lack specialised support and knowledge for prepress and production supervision. This can lead to challenges in coordinating production processes, planning follow-up and ultimately unmanageable differences between calculated and actual costs.

The latest version of the MultiPress Order Manager offers an effective solution here by providing the order manager with a clear set of tools that help him to follow up jobs all the way to production. The order manager can easily follow all steps from within the familiar MultiPress environment, automating intermediate steps. This includes checking and repairing incoming files with Check & Repair, driving the proofing flow with tracking approvals and finally, via simple checks, assigning files to specific print production and finishing processes.

The major advantage of this approach is the significant simplification of complex processes through an intuitive dashboard. This not only increases efficiency, but also optimises cost control and production processes. This enables sign companies with limited technical expertise to quickly and successfully control their production.

Display Wizard makes displays easier to calculate, produce and track

Because of their higher added value, displays are attractive products for sign and large-format professionals. However, displays are a complex product in several areas such as design, administration and production follow-up.

With the introduction of the Display Wizard, MultiPress offers a seamless solution for effortlessly calculating, managing and producing displays and complex point-of-sale jobs.

The Display Wizard in MultiPress allows you to treat each part of a display as a separate order, while at the same time maintaining the connection between these parts throughout all steps of the administrative and production processes.

Display Wizard enables users to:

  • perform faster calculations of displays and their specific parts
  • manage designs and cutting frames efficiently
  • keep an overview during material reservation, print production and finishing processes
  • neatly group all elements during assembly and dispatch, even when using different materials and production technologies.

The Display Wizard provides a streamlined approach for professionals in the sign and large-format industry, allowing them to work with greater confidence and efficiency on display projects with high complexity and added value.

'Kits' in MultiPress let you group partial orders

Correct and timely delivery and installation are increasingly important in the sign and large-format market. Dataline has made considerable efforts to strengthen the entire logistics chain within MultiPress with applications such as expedition planning, the installation app, and integrations with platforms such as nShift (Transsmart, Sendcloud) and Bumbal.

In this context, it is now possible within MultiPress to bundle different parts of various orders into different shipments in a simple and very clear way, and to accurately track these partial orders throughout order management up to delivery.

Think of a wide range of campaign materials (e.g. posters, wobblers, displays, window stickers and flyers) that need to be collected and delivered on time to various retail outlets. Thanks to MultiPress, packaging and logistics departments are better managed, and campaign kits are delivered to their destinations completely and on time.

Christoph Krohn explains, "In developing MultiPress, we constantly strive to ensure that the MIS/ERP of sign and large format companies optimally meets their current needs. We are convinced that MultiPress 6.0 Sirius will assist these companies even more than before in streamlining and automating their business operations."

Reworked MultiPress App: expanded set of MultiPress mobile features

Also new to MultiPress 6.0 Sirius is the completely revamped MultiPress App.

Back in 2019, Dataline innovated the sign market with the Installation App, which allowed sign and large-format installers to track every assembly job in real time. This pioneering app has won multiple industry awards, including the EDP Award 2019. Currently, as many as 50% of all sign and wide-format companies using MultiPress are using this app. In addition, an app in which customer data can be accessed within MultiPress mobile had also existed for some time.

Based on extensive user feedback, both these apps have now been reworked with a greatly improved set of MultiPress features and packaged into one powerful application for iOS and Android devices.

  • The CRM app provides access to all customer data in MultiPress and has been extended to all communications, estimating data, pricing information, historical data and much more. Commercial staff and management can access all data of their customers and relations from anywhere.
  • The installation or assembly app is designed to process all the work and costs involved in delivering sign and large-format orders as correctly and easily as possible in MultiPress, allowing for smooth post-calculation and settlement. The revamped app taps into the expedition planning in MultiPress, allowing installers to follow the order of their jobs and the process flawlessly. The app also offers installation guidelines and the ability to accurately add working hours of all employees, additional materials purchased and photos of the completed work. The customer can digitally sign and send the delivery note. With the revamped app, handling sign and large-format installations onsite is fully integrated into the MultiPress workflow so that accurate post-calculation and financial settlement can smoothly complete each project

Christoph Krohn explains, "With this updated app, we can now really speak of a fully-fledged 'MultiPress App' that will help many MultiPress users to follow up their work even better. "CRM" and "Installation" are the first and most important features, but we are already looking forward to subsequent app releases with which we will make MultiPress even more mobile."

Strengthening Dataline partner network

In addition to MultiPress's ongoing development, Dataline underlines its commitment to integration with certified technology partners. Collaboration with more than 80 certified MultiPress Technology Partners promotes advanced automation and strengthens the MultiPress ecosystem.

New certified MultiPress partner: Print.com

We are proud to announce a new integration with Print.com, the leading Dutch online printing platform.

This integration has many benefits:

  • MultiPress users now have the ability to integrate MultiPress calculation software with Print.com's ordering software.
  • Users can easily select products in the MultiPress calculation environment and add them to MultiPress, with all specifications fully mapped and adopted.
  • Uploaded PDFs are sent effortlessly from the MultiPress folder structure to Print.com. The entire order flow, including logistics, is automatically followed up from the quotation.

For MultiPress users, this means that they can order print jobs from Print.com without leaving the familiar MultiPress environment. Importantly, all administrative and product data are retained in the MultiPress database, ensuring full transparency and control over the order flow.

Updates in the Dataline partner network

Dataline is also strengthening its partnership with leading technology providers in the sign and wide-format industry, demonstrating at FESPA its latest workflow links with leading players such as AGFA (ASANTI), OneVision, Caldera (PrimeCenter), Onyx and others.

In addition, Dataline is further expanding its successful integration with Antalis' online ordering platform within MultiPress. This collaboration has been successful in Belgium and the Netherlands for some time, and is now being rolled out to France and other European countries.

This expansion offers users an even wider range of possibilities to seamlessly benefit from the integration and efficiency MultiPress has to offer.
