Moonfox

Cardboard is ideal for creating a whole world in no time at all. This is well-understood at Moonfox in Zwevegem, Belgium. But can the supporting administration still keep up? At this POS and display production company, one day they create a shampoo display that says you're worth it, other days they craft cardboard robots for a renowned car brand. One day the design is playful and colourful, the other day the team creates a display fit for a high-end copper gin. The basic material is always the same but the options are boundless. It's undeniable: reinventing the world using cardboard is exciting. It's undeniable: reinventing the world using cardboard is exciting. But that comes with a price, of course. POS material makers deliver unique, high-quality creations almost every time. Delivered to five different locations? That's possible. Packaged per piece or in bulk, flat-packed or assembled. No problem. Everything is tailor-made for the customer, and that includes smooth administration.

Administrative organisation

But how do you organise all that administratively? It's not an easy task, as it turns out. Moonfox's projects are often complex: different materials, complex printing, finishing and different print runs. A lot of material is printed and purchased externally and then processed in-house (laminating, punching, assembling displays).

A large part of their project follow-up, from quotation to invoicing, was done via a software package that was introduced some ten years ago. But after a few years, a number of issues became apparent and the island solutions piled up. They experienced the administrative package as cumbersome, and moreover, a series of side solutions were necessary to cover all needs. And when the supplier of the administrative platform announced the end of their services, Moonfox looked for a worthy replacement. All of the administrative processes were in urgent need of a solid upgrade.

Tailored to POS and display production

Moonfox was looking for a new administrative system that was future-proof, with a low error rate and tailored to a POS and display company. These were their greatest difficulties:

  • Quotations had to be issued more quickly and flexibly. They wanted to process more variants, make adjustments more quickly and work more with graduated prices. And they also wanted to get rid of Excel. After all, it only served as a backup for the existing administration package
  • Better project management for both customised and standard products
  • Stock management and a linked purchasing process. This is very important for a display company that buys a lot of printed matter and processes various materials
  • Better planning that is understandable to every employee involved throughout the company
  • Prepress integration and automation so that files can be sent from the administration directly to prepress

Seamless AGFA integration

During their search, the Moonfox team looked at similar companies such as Beyaert, Crea Pack, and others who are satisfied with the MultiPress MIS/ERP software for their carton production.

A recent webinar that demonstrated how MultiPress seamlessly integrates with the 'AGFA Asanti' workflow for large format production brought everything to a head. Moonfox had recently encountered problems in their workflow and was looking for a sustainable way to better integrate prepress and administration. The certified link between MultiPress and the 'AGFA Asanti' workflow ensures a smooth transfer of files to the prepress workflow, while communication of proofs takes place via MultiPress. This means a more efficient operation and so the Apogee printer can continue to produce optimally. This important requirement was therefore immediately and convincingly ticked off the list!

A complete solution for POS administration and production

With focused precision, the MultiPress experts demonstrated that the requirements for a new administrative workflow at Moonfox could be met flawlessly:

  • MultiPress has an answer to all complex questions, knows how to calculate all production and finishing techniques with a workflow that is more powerful and easier to use
  • The important CAD integration is taken care of by the MultiPress folder structure in which you can administratively manage the files and projects with multiple components
  • Sales automation (project follow-up) also simplifies the workflow: after all, MultiPress has a cloud-based CRM and sales automation, which means that generic project management software can be scrapped as an island solution

With its modular package, MultiPress offers a lot of possibilities and flexibility. And let it be just what Moonfox was looking for!
